“The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.” – Sydney J. Harris
Are you ready to continue exploring seven more ways to help reduce your stress levels? I loved the quote above simply because it is so true. If you stop and think about I bet you can hear your own voice saying…
“BUT I DON’T HAVE TIME TO SLOW DOWN!!!
I call B.S. (yep, you read that right.. that’s Bull$h!T). With the work that I do, I see it in my clients every day. I can honestly tell you that if you keep that “I don’t have time” mindset, then it’s only a matter of time before your body forces you to slow down.
I bet if you were really honest with yourself, the signs are already there that your body needs a break, a moment to unwind, a deep breath or two.
So please, do your body a favor and pick just one Stress Reducing idea we have listed and implement it right away.
You deserve this, so stop being stubborn.

#5 Take a Grounding Walk (AKA Earthing)
Another one of my personal favorites! Earthing is a way for your energetic field to connect with the energy field of the earth. Taking a grounding walk is one of the simplest ways to calm your mind and soothe your soul. The most important part is to connect your bare feet to the earth (grass, sand, water etc). While you are doing this grounding exercise imagine your feet growing roots like a tree, imagine your roots running deep into
#6 Yoga
This is one of the those things I wish I made more time for because every time without fail I feel amazing after doing yoga. I sleep better, my body doesn’t hurt, I am more relaxed, I feel reenergized… Ok, you get the picture, but seriously Yoga is the bomb-nizzle and you should find a class if you have never experienced yoga first hand. Enough said!
#7 Calming Music
With technology ALL around us during every second of every day this one is pretty easy to slip into your daily routine.
- You can download a CD from Itunes.
- You can search Pandora for Spa music or a Meditation station.
- If you are feeling stressed at work, throw on some tunes at a low volume. Even if you can’t hear it super clearly your body can.
- You can play YouTube videos of calming music while your phone is in your purse or pocket.
#8 Gardening
The benefits of this one are very similar to #5, working in a garden is not only satisfying because at some point you will be able to harvest all your home-grown produce but it is incredibly grounding to work the soil and reconnect with the earth.
#9 Eat Well
I know, I know! Sometimes this one is easier said then done especially in our fast-paced society. However, it is so important to feed your body all the colors of the rainbow so, hopefully, you will be getting a wide variety of vitamins and minerals on a daily basis. Don’t get down on yourself if today was a bad eating day, just make an effort to do better tomorrow.
#10 Just Say NO!
Stop wearing “busy” like a badge of honor!
You will still be the most amazing version of you if you choose to say “No” every now and again. In fact, saying no now will allow you to say Yes when something really important comes up later. Remember, you are just as important as whatever it is you think you “can’t say no to”. If you say “Yes” to everyone else then you are saying “No” to yourself, and that’s not healthy either.
#11 Essential Oils
Ohh, this one is a fun one because there are so many options to play with. There really is no right or wrong answer. My biggest suggestion is to listen to your body. If you know Lavender is good for sleep but you are drawn to Wild Orange at night (which is typically used as an uplifting oil) just go for it and see what happens. Just because one works for the majority but something else ends up
Oils I love for reducing stress
