Is Holistic Medicine the Missing Link?

Is Holistic Medicine the Missing Link?

I am sure most of you have heard of the term “holistic medicine”, if not let’s take the WebMd definition and explore this approach further.

Holistic medicine practitioners believe that the whole person is made up of interdependent parts and if one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected. In this way, if people have imbalances (physical, emotional, or spiritual) in their lives, it can negatively affect their overall health.

WOWZA!

Did you just hear that little voice in your head echo back things you have either said in the past or have currently been saying about your health?

Things like “I have been eating so good, why do I still feel so TIRED” or

“I have eliminated stressors in my life and have made big changes to improve my ANXIETY but I am still struggling with panic attacks”

“I don’t know what is wrong with me but I have had a stomach ache for months”

That last one was totally me and you can read more about that here.

The short version is the answers to my stomach aches and gastro issues could not have been found in a typical western medicine test. I did not have a virus, food poisoning, or the flu.

What I had was ANXIETY!

Anxiety

The craziest part was up until that moment I could NOT have identified what I was feeling as anxiety (trust me I know that sounds absurd but what I was going through didn’t match what anxiety looked like for my friends who struggle with anxiety).

I had never personally dealt with anxiety in my life before that time so I didn’t have a frame of reference to go off of.

I don’t tell you that story so you can say “oh poor Chrystal, she had anxiety”

I tell you that story because the day I figured out what was happening inside my body and mind was the day that my entire world changed and my new path and purpose opened up with a Las Vegas-sized neon sign that said …

Apart of me wanted to scream ” HOW COULD YOU BE SO CLUELESS” but in reality, I didn’t even know I was looking for a sign, to begin with. ((FacePalm))

My world was now open to the idea that our health is so much more than the idea of…

” I am healthy because I do not have a cold/flu” etc.

Now it was…

“I am healthy in my physical body, but my mind and spirit aren’t feeling so good today”.

Which is the perfect example of what a whole body approach to holistic health would look like. When you heal the mind, body, and spirit in unison is when your most authentic self will shine through.

In the coming weeks, I will explain more about what imbalances look like in the mind and in the spirit. How we can identify what the emotional root is to our physical elements. What energy work is and what it isn’t. We will dive into chakra healing, angel numbers and what each angel number means.

This is going to be so much FUN!

I look forward to continuing this journey with you and sharing more about the healing modalities that I have found that have made the most profound changes in my life and the lives of those I love.
